Creating a Classroom

As a teacher or presenter, setting up a StarBoard Online class is simple and customisable.

Create Your Identity

Nickname (Required): Enter your nickname.
Classroom Name (Optional): Input a unique classroom name for easy identification.
Class Duration: Select the desired length of the class (default is 30 minutes).

Choose Your Classroom Type

Lecture Hall: Ideal for one-way live broadcasts to large audiences. Students can request to join the video chat.
Small Classroom: Perfect for interactive teaching in a more intimate setting. Teachers and students can communicate freely.

Confirm and Create

Click the “Create” button to set up your online classroom.

Joining a Classroom

Whether you’re a student, teaching assistant, or listener, joining a StarBoard Online class is straightforward:

Option 1: Using Room ID

Enter the Classroom Details

Room ID (Required): Input the room ID provided by the teacher.
Nickname (Required): Enter your nickname.
Class Type: Select the class type matching the teacher’s setup (Lecture Hall or Small Classroom).

Click the “Join” button to enter the virtual learning space.

Option 2: Using a Classroom Link

Access the Classroom Link:

Click on the shared classroom link provided by the instructor.

Enter Your Nickname:

Nickname (Required): Input your nickname.

Join the Classroom:

Click the “Join” button to connect to the virtual learning environment.

Optimise Device Configuration

Before joining the class, configure your devices for the best experience:

Microphone:Select the correct microphone to ensure your voice is heard clearly.
Speaker:Choose the appropriate speaker device for high-quality audio.
Camera:Select the correct camera for a clear video feed. Browser Access: On some browsers, grant StarBoard Online permission to access your devices for uninterrupted engagement.

Complete Setup:

Click “Finish” to complete the setup and enter the virtual classroom.
